From 2011 to 2013, I wrote a regular column, titled “Work in progress” on sociopolitical issues in The Nut Graph, a news and commentary website in Malaysia.
While an undergraduate, I also wrote numerous articles for the campus paper, The Williams Record. I was editor-in-chief of the Record in Spring 2010. Sample articles: on growing socioeconomic diversity at Williams; on the board of trustees.
From February to May 2007, I interned at theSun newspaper, which currently has the largest print circulation among English dailies in Malaysia. Sample articles: on current circumstances of the Orang Asal (indigenous minorities), as featured in a major photography exhibition; reactions to a banned documentary about the Communist Party of Malaya
I have also written for a few faith-based publications. Most recently, I wrote for The Kairos Journal, which publishes personal narrative essays on Christian living. At Williams College, I was a founding member, and later editor-in-chief, of The Williams Telos, a campus journal of Christian discourse. I contributed an essay to Christianity and citizenship (2013), an e-book that examined questions of citizenship for Christians in Malaysia.
